Product Description The plate heat exchanger operates on the same principle as the shell tube design, except that the tubes and the outer casing, the fluid in the plate heat exchanger flows through a series of passages separated by a stack of plates. The heat that the plate heat exchanger can dissipate can be improved by increasing the number of plates in the laminate or the length and width of the plates. This design makes plate heat exchangers more compact than shell tubes, and because they are typically made of stainless steel, they are an obvious choice for many industries, such as food and beverage processing, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and dairy products. Copper and aluminum cannot be used.
